Algebra 2 – This week’s lessons involved solving problems with adding vectors by converting everything into rectangular form and using trigonometry (basically we took a look at triangulation with a quick nod to compasses, maps, and graphs). We also covered a few questions with “imaginary” numbers and advanced substitution.

Latin – We reviewed present and perfect infinitives and read through the next section of Caesar’s report on the Helvetians.

History/Music – We talked about the Baroque Period and the composer Bach. We listened to Bach’s music. His books about “The Well-Tempered Clavier” included a prelude and a fugue in every major and minor key (we defined “Clavier,” “Fugue,” and “Zither” terms this week).

Debate - We will likely have the groups hold a short debate this week and then repeat the preparations for a debate from the opposite side weeks 5 and 6. Both teams should consider their ability to persuade an audience with definitions, examples, problems, and solutions.
